Verification policy
How we verify advertisers, which data we look at and what we keep.
This is an English translation for your convenience. The Dutch version is legally binding; in case of any difference, the Dutch text prevails.
1. Why we verify
We verify every advertiser for three reasons: to be sure that everyone who advertises is 21 or older, to prevent anyone from posting photos of someone else and to counter abuses such as coercion, exploitation and minors. Verification is mandatory; without valid verification a profile is not published or goes offline.
2. Identity verification
When you create your profile we ask for an unblurred verification photo. Our moderators use it to check whether the person in the photo is the same as in the profile photos. This photo is visible only to our administrators and is never shown publicly.
We do not ask for an identity document. If we doubt whether someone is 21 or older, we do not publish the profile.
3. Right to live and work
When you accept the terms for your account, you confirm that you are 21 or older and are allowed to live and work in the Netherlands. If you have a nationality from outside the EU, the EEA or Switzerland, we may ask you to show that you are allowed to work here (work or residence permit). If you cannot, the profile is not published or goes offline.
4. Business accounts
An agency, club or private house verifies every person it has advertise through its account separately and records that person's explicit consent. We may request that proof. Where a municipal licence with a disclosure obligation applies, the business states its licence number in the profile.
5. Verifying again
We may ask you to renew your verification, for example if your photos change considerably or if we have doubts. You will be notified and given a reasonable period; if you do not verify in time, your profile goes offline temporarily until the new verification is complete.
6. What we keep
We keep the verification photo as long as your profile exists and delete it no later than 28 days after your profile has been deleted. We do not have an identity document, so we do not keep one either. See the privacy statement for the full retention periods.
7. Why a verification can be rejected
- The photo has been edited, filtered or is not from a single session.
- The person in the verification photo does not match the profile photos.
- There are doubts whether someone is actually 21 or older.
- The face is not clearly visible (for example because of sunglasses or hair in front of the face).
If we reject it, we explain why, so you can correct it and submit it again.
